Cruising Materials
Fabrics designed to offer you the highest quality
The two suppliers selected by Delta Voiles, Dimension Polyant and Contender, manage the entire production process, from fiber spinning to weaving and finishing, ensuring the highest possible quality in racing sails.
TEH MEMBRANES
D4 fabrics are defined by their innovation, quality, and performance. In fact, they are constructed with fibers strategically placed where stress is greatest. As a result, D4 meets the expectations of all competitive sailors.
Thanks to its acquisition by Incidence Group in 2018, DELTA Voiles is one of only three sailmakers in the world capable of offering sails utilizing these technologies.
The Filmless membrane offers a lighter and more flexible membrane. It consists of film-free taffeta with remarkable adhesion and lamination resistance. The films are replaced by industrially pre-impregnated outer taffetas. Made liquid by heat, the adhesive saturates the composite and provides flawless cohesion. This makes for a very robust and reliable membrane. This material is perfectly suited for cruising and racing boats.
Thus, Filmless membranes are more flexible and lighter than “traditional” taffeta, due to the absence of film.
FILAMENTAIRE DFI
DELTA Voiles is now one of only three sailmakers in the world capable of designing filament membrane sails.
Thanks to its acquisition by Incidence Group in 2018, DELTA Voiles has access to Incidence Technologies’ products (manufactured in France) and can offer you sails made from DFi® or DFi FIT®.
The DFi® filament membrane consists solely of strips of prepreg filaments: tapes. These tapes cover the entire surface of the material. This eliminates the need for film and/or taffeta, resulting in weight savings, improved shape retention, and greater durability.
Code 0
DIMENSION POLYANT
Initially, Code Zero sails were mainly used in offshore racing, but since then they have become increasingly popular.
A Code Zero resembles an asymmetric spinnaker with a flatter shape and is used as a very light genoa. Conventional spinnaker fabrics do not offer enough resistance to stretching to perform adequately in this type of application.
For this reason, DIMENSION-POLYANT has developed a range of laminates specifically designed for this purpose—ultra-lightweight, stable, and tear-resistant.
DIMENSION-POLYANT is the only company in the world to manufacture its high-end sail fabrics entirely in-house. Since sail fabric is Delta Voiles’ sole product line, they have invested in specialized production equipment for weaving, finishing, and laminating.
PRO RADIAL
DIMENSION POLYANT
Pro Radial was developed to meet the growing demand for woven polyester radial sails.
The warp-free weave represents a significant advancement in sail fabric, resulting in a material comparable to a polyester laminate in terms of stretch and weight, while retaining the durability inherent in woven technology.
Pro Radial incorporates its own UVi technology to ensure the highest UV stability.

HYDRANET RADIAL
DIMENSION POLYANT
DIMENSION-POLYANT’s HydraNet Radial materials combine the durability of polyester yarns with the warp strength of high-modulus Ultra-PE yarns.
This combination results in a fabric that is tear-resistant and more stable than any other woven fabric. Enjoy exceptional shape retention with a very soft feel.
Additionally, it is a breathable material that minimizes ambient moisture and thus reduces the risk of mold growth.

DCX
DIMENSION POLYANT
The Croisière laminates were designed at the request of offshore sailing enthusiasts.
They combine technical performance, durability, and ease of use. The central polyester grid is reinforced by a 9° X-Ply, with the entire structure laminated between two layers of film. Finally, the special UVM coating helps combat UV damage and mold.
DIMENSION-POLYANT is the only company in the world to manufacture its high-end sailcloth entirely in-house. Since sailcloth is Delta Voiles’ sole product line, they have invested in specialized production equipment for weaving, finishing, and laminating.
XRP SPORT
Challenge Sailcloth’s XRP Sport is a high-performance fabric designed for “cruising-performance” or “club racing” sails with a performance-oriented cut.
Its design is based on the XRP construction, featuring high-tenacity black-coated polyester fibers, and incorporates robust, precision-laminated fill-X inserts at angles ranging from 0 to 60 degrees.
This evolution of XRP offers excellent resistance to UV rays, stretching, and tearing.
AP BLADE
DIMENSION POLYANT
Dimension Polyant’s All Purpose materials are designed to provide maximum resistance to stretching in the main directions while offering excellent performance in other directions.
The focus has been on two key criteria: the fabric must help the sail retain its original shape for as long as possible, and it must be able to withstand stress.
Thus, All Purpose Blade is a consistently high-tech fabric.

STRONG FILL
DIMENSION POLYANT
Strong Fill (SF) fabrics guarantee optimal material quality, combining low elongation with first-rate durability.
Strong Fill’s impeccable stability in the main direction is achieved through the use of high-strength yarns that are perfectly tensioned in the weft direction.
The MTO finish gives Strong Fill a soft feel and makes it easy to handle. Finally, the very tight weave ensures excellent bias control.

FLEX ULTRA
DIMENSION POLYANT
The Flex Ultra weave is designed for the traditional horizontal cut, known as the Cross Cut.
Its Laminates line consists of 5-ply fabrics made from Ultra-PE fibers. Finally, Dimension Polyant also utilizes UVM Finish technology.

WARP TECH
CONTENDER
Warp Tech is a combination of thick warp threads that bear the main stresses and ensure low stretch, along with thinner warp and weft threads that create a tight, balanced weave.
These features make Warp Tech unique due to its very low warp stretch without compromising its dimensional stability in the bias or weft directions.
The Fibercon Pro Warp Tech is an ideal choice for sailors looking for a sail with a directional profile who want to maximize its longevity.
PALMA-TEC
Palma-Tec is a cruising laminate that uses fully embedded fibers, without scrims, for superior performance.
Sandwiched between taffetas layers that are both flexible and strong, it offers excellent adhesion to the laminate, resulting in remarkable durability.
Its high-tenacity black polyester fibers, arranged in multiple directions, provide excellent resistance to off-angle loads.
NYLITE / MAXILITE
CONTENDER
The balance between weight, stability, tear resistance, and breaking strength in a Nylite or Maxilite fabric depends on the quality of the fibers, the weave, and the finish.
Nylite and Maxilite spinnaker fabrics are treated with a long-lasting melamine finish. They have been specifically developed for quality-conscious cruisers.
The choice between Nylite and Maxilite fabric depends on the size of your boat and the conditions in which you plan to sail. Both types of fabric offer excellent tear and stretch resistance. They guarantee many years of high-performance sailing.
STORMLITE
CONTENDER
If you’re a cruising sailor looking for a sturdy, easily adjustable gennaker or reacher sail, Stormlite fabric is the perfect choice for you.
The combination of polyester yarn and a melamine coating makes Stormlite a fabric that retains its shape better than nylon spinnaker fabrics.
Stormlite retains its shape even in the most extreme conditions, thanks to the high stretch resistance of the polyester yarns.
This fabric also has a longer lifespan than nylon because it offers much better UV resistance.
SUPERKOTE
CONTENDER
The polyurethane coating ensures high stability, low weight, 0% porosity, and excellent water repellency.
In addition to this polyurethane coating, Dynakote 60 and 75 fabrics are treated with nano-silicones. The result is an extremely smooth surface, which means you can hoist and lower your sail more quickly, and therefore jibe faster and more easily.
Their excellent water repellency keeps your spinnaker dry and light for longer.
