Nautitech 40 Open “El Gaucho” – 2020
Owner’s catamaran perfectly equipped for long voyages, with comprehensive professional support for 5 years around the world.
The Nautitech 40 Open ‘El Gaucho’, launched in 2020, is much more than a cruising catamaran: it is a true exploration sailboat that has brilliantly completed a 5-year round-the-world trip in exceptional comfort and autonomy. This boat, maintained with the utmost care, was continuously supported by the Neo Marine teams, first in La Rochelle for technical preparation and familiarisation, then in Martinique for technical monitoring during its voyage.
From the moment you step aboard, you can sense the spirit of adventure and the quality of design of the Nautitech 40 Open. With its elegant hull and well-designed layout, this 11.98-metre multihull offers generous living space, excellent natural ventilation and smooth circulation between the cockpit and saloon, a signature feature of the Open model.
The boat is configured with 3 cabins and 2 heads, including a spacious owner’s cabin. The interior atmosphere is warm, modern and perfectly functional for life on board. Everything has been designed to offer lasting comfort: a 3kg washing machine, a convertible lounge area, a fully equipped kitchen (gas oven, fridge, freezer, gas hob, stainless steel sink) and a Fusion Marine audio system in both the saloon and the cockpit.
Designed for total autonomy, El Gaucho is equipped with an Aquabase 65L/h watermaker, Victron lithium batteries (5 x 100 Ah installed in 2025), a Victron 3000W converter, and, most importantly, an optimised 1050W solar installation (3x350W on a gantry). It is a fully self-sufficient catamaran, capable of long voyages without stopping.
The electronics package is equally comprehensive, featuring a high-quality B&G suite: three 9″ Zeus displays, autopilot, radar, AIS transceiver, ForwardScan, and wind, speed and rudder angle sensors. The boat is also equipped with a Starlink Maritime antenna, providing high-speed internet connectivity anywhere in the world, ideal for communication, weather updates, or remote working..
In terms of sails, El Gaucho is equipped to perform in all conditions with a full-batten mainsail and a self-tacking Hydranet solent, a North Sails Helix 95 gennaker (2023), and an Oxley Levante spinnaker. The rigging is easy to handle thanks to four Lewmar ST45 winches, one of which is electric..
Safety is not overlooked, with a liferaft, EPIRB, life jackets, bilge pumps, LED navigation lights, and Coppercoat treatment for long-lasting antifouling protection.
Finally, the boat comes with a Highfield 310 Classic tender + Mercury 20HP engine (2023), as well as davits and numerous comfort features for mooring and water sports.
A boat ready to set sail again
“El Gaucho” is not just any old second-hand catamaran. It is a tried and tested vessel, reliable and ready to set sail for new horizons. It benefits from all the expertise of Neo Marine, which has followed its progress every step of the way, ensuring exceptional maintenance, optimisation and reliability.
