To sail aboard ‘La Luna’ is to experience a modern, refined catamaran, designed to explore the world with serenity. Launched in 2022, this Nautitech 40 Open is more than just a boat: it’s a companion for long voyages, ready to criss-cross the seas.

Designed down to the smallest detail for a comfortable and autonomous life on board, “La Luna” embodies the very spirit of ocean cruising. During her voyage, she was able to count on expert technical support from Neo Marine, in La Rochelle during the handover, then in Martinique for technical optimisation and logistical support, essential for meeting the challenges of demanding ocean sailing.

The design of the Nautitech 40 Open is an invitation to freedom. The interior space opens generously to the outside thanks to the signature Open Concept layout, creating a fluid, light-filled living space where the cockpit becomes a true extension of the saloon. The materials are of the highest quality, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, designed to last.

With its 3 cabins and 2 bathrooms, ‘La Luna’ offers remarkable comfort. Each cabin is equipped with memory foam mattresses, top-of-the-range pillows, USB and 230V sockets, and a full range of textiles. The kitchen is worthy of a home: induction hob, gas cooker, oven, Krups espresso machine, food processor, full set of crockery, and 6.5 kg washing machine.

All the energy on board is carefully managed to guarantee total autonomy: 1720W of rigid solar panels, 4 x 200Ah lithium batteries, Victron Smart 3000W inverter, Victron and Victron 700 BMV Battery monitor + bluetooth chargers, 100L/h watermaker with HP Italian ceramic pump… Every system has been thought out so that “La Luna” can live at sea without dependency.

In terms of navigation, the boat is equipped with all the latest-generation B&G electronics: three Zeus 9” plotters, B&G 4G radar, autopilot with dedicated backup, AIS transmitter/receiver, fixed + portable wireless VHF, Navionics Europe, Caribbean, Americas cartography, and all the sensors needed for reliable, precise and safe navigation.

Her sails, too, are ready for adventure: a 65 m² full-batten mainsail with 3 Dacron reefs, a Dacron self-tacking jib, a 2022 Elvström gennaker, and a 137 m² Oxley Levante sail for devouring the miles in the trade winds, all with reinforced fittings and quality winches.

Offshore safety is at the heart of the design: EPIRB, Plastimo 6 PAX liferaft, 6 Plastimo Evo165 lifejackets, including two with MOB1 beacons + 2 Plastimo SLR196 lifejackets with MOB1 beacons, numerous fire extinguishers, water alarms in the holds, waterproof LED torch, complete first aid kits, waterproof binoculars, Grab bags with extra firework, water, portable VHF, lifelines… Nothing has been left to chance.

And to complete the adventure spirit of ‘La Luna’, the leisure equipment is just as good: Highfield Hypalon 2022 tender, Honda 10hp engine, paddle board, snorkelling equipment, complete aft cockpit enclosure with access doors, sunshade for cockpit enclosure, external sun protection for roof glazing with opening windows, helm and winch covers, Sunbrella skipper’s bimini, and a cockpit space that can be converted to suit your sailing or mooring requirements.
